I bring you GREAT Porsche content! I prefer older, more affordable cars to own because I think they are more representative of the REAL Porsche thinking but that’s not to say we won’t look at new Porsches too and talk about what Porsche themselves are up to!
All of my videos are filmed, written and edited by me. I find the subject matter myself, create the story and then bring it to you with the specific aim of making you smile, entertaining you and, if I can, educating you! ENJOY!

Is this the end of the road for my Porsche 928? CRASH!
See the dashcam footage and look at the damage and make up your own minds. I was involved in a crash in my Porsche 928 and I am really worried that the insurance company will total the car. These cars aren’t worth a lot, I’m afraid, yet insurance costs go up and up and up. After all the work we did to this lovely Porsche, can this be the end of it? Man, I hope now. Tell me what you think?

How Does It Drive Now After All The Work? Porsche 928 Revival - Part 8
That was a weird intersection you went through, I assume it was a double lane round-about. But I am reluctant to say I would never have been trying to overtake another car going through a strange intersection like that. Not to be rude Jay, it may not be your fault, but that was not defensive driving you were doing.
Jay, Your mum has taught you manners, respect, and class. Even with this unfortunate mishap, your caring for others showed. I know you have worked hard on your beautiful Porsche 928. I remember when the hood was damaged and watched the restoration progress from all your videos. . Life is a journey full of ups and downs. From what I can see, yours has way more ups than downs. Keep the positive thoughts flowing! What an opportunity to grow. Continue with your successful life! I am excited to see the next chapter! My parents would always say to me "PUSH FORWARD" Good luck and i know you will grow, learn, and help others even more! kudos my friend.

So sad to see this happen to an example of Porsche history. Hoping it works out to fix it, Jay!!
Let’s hope the other guys insurance will fix it but considering the 928s value, it might be tough. If the insurance won’t fix it, use the money from the other insurance and fix it yourself.
Definitely worth fixing You can drive it til you can afford it The shock is the worst thing The camera never lies If written off you can buy it back cheap and fix it
Totally repairable, just another page is the cars story. !
Hey, sorry to hear about the accident, if you get any payment, good excuse for a whole repaint. Take your time, speaking as someone 5 years in without a drive yet …..
Come on don’t give up so quickly on the car after all the work put in!! Seems like really repairable. Not that the engine department is hit. We support you from Belgium!!
Feel your pain and learned a lot about roundabout travel. Sorry this happened to you my friend, but the best is yet to come. Each curve presents a new adventure, no pun intende. Cant wait to see whats next , the saga continues...
Quite right! Thank you!🙏
If the insurers are playing silly buggers then I'll be happy to throw a few dollars your way as a thank you for your nice videos and to get this beautiful motor back on the road! Set something up and see?
WOW! That’s so generous of you and so nice. Good people ARE out there! It won’t be necessary though. I’m going to fight hard here and save this car! I love it too much! Really though, very glad to have you as part of the community here. Thank you.🙏❤️
@@JAYREAD I think I'm just echoing everyone here. You've a great channel and I am just envious I'm not in the position to have one of these beauties right now!
@@jusssy5078thank you so much! ❤
I am sincerely sad for you loss... hope the insurance company will help vs. not help...
Thank you!🙏
To quote Ed China " Never give up!" In a proverbial year's time it will be fixed and you'll be a happy chap. Life is about snakes and ladders. Climb back up mate, all the best, these restored 928s are worth saving . Cheers from Tasmania.
That’s the spirit! Thanks!🙏
I’ve owned a 1973 T , an 85-1/2 944 & the 996.2 cab … I’ve driven356, 993 , GT3 , GT3 RS , GT4 RS …. I look all the time to “upgrade” & could buy one but I come back to the size , usability & cost effectiveness of the 996.2 etc and just stay happy with the 996.
Yeah! ❤️
Please don't condemn it. Someone like Tavarish could repair it!!
The problem is that I am not someone like Tavarish! Haha! I will find someone though!
2024 = 24 year 928S owner here... and that car is stunning! ♥#tessaslegacy
Seeing the pain you're feeling, it's obvious this car is very valuable to you and you've invested a lot in it. It's not a cement mixer or a lawn mower to be thrown in the trash. It's beautiful and running great. I noticed how great it sounds. I would get it fixed and and continue enjoying it.
On it! Agree! ❤️
I had the chance to buy a 997 4S a month ago and decided the 996 4S was the way to go. A lot more cost effective, more parts available, IMO better interior with less buttons and switches to touch, way better rear end look, and lighter for more speed 😎 Thank you for the video it was really refreshing and I just subscribed!
Really happy to hear you enjoyed it! The 996 C4S is a true think of beauty. Congratulations!
terrible! its unfortunate how road colored and low to the ground that it is. I'm probably painting mine something bright to avoid this. It still could have happened to anyone. Maybe its an opportunity to get a 5 speed.
Thanks!🙏
I have slept on this. Yes, you have already invested time and money into this beautiful car. I say have it repaired. Good luck with your decision
Yeaaahhh! ❤️
Comprehensive and very useful! Thank you very much :)
Happy to hear it was helpful! Thank you! 🙏
So sorry to hear about and see your recent mishap. I truly hope that it is fixable within reason. Try to remain positive. Well wishes.
Hey thanks!🙏
Ugh. Sorry to hear and see that. Hopefully you can team up with a body shop. Or just film from the drivers side. 🙃
Thinking outside the box there! Thanks!🙏
Fix it and love it. I’m no expert but i’d look at knocking the dent out rather than replace the panel. It looks just like it’s superficial panels rather than any structural damage. All the best Jay
Thanks a lot! Yes, that’s how I’m thinking too. Especially the love bit.
Do you get agreed value insurance over there? I'm uk based. Someone will be able to pull the dent out but that person is probably not an insurance bodyshop (they would just repalce the panel). Seek a fabricator and panel person who understands classic cars. It is hassle to solve. Good luck.
Yes, I think this is the aim. See if someone can fix it. Thanks!🙏
Bad news about the accident. Pity it wasn't the other panel that had the slightly off paint work. Super keen to see the exhaust video and good on you for pushing on with that. Maybe you can get your manual.
Yes, isn’t it?! Exhaust video incoming! Thanks a lot!
It is not a hard repair rear quarter and door. Keep positive!
Thanks!🙏
As you know there are two sorts of repair. The fix it quick, blow it over type. Sadly the other is rarer, real panel beating even rarer, but they do exist. My take: most of that will push out. Replace as little as possible. Aluminium panels need etch primer before finishing, but that should be common practice( though again rare) On a different track, most of the evaporative control plumbing is in that arch, if there isn’t a liner then there might be some early stage tin worm behind. Stick with it whatever. This is a good instance of where agreed value cover helps.
Great post! Very helpful! Thanks a lot!
Oh man I hope they save Burt! Glad you are ok!!
Thanks!🙏
You weren’t hurt, metal can be fixed you can’t, so that’s the first positive. Secondly you had an onboard camcorder, so there is no question whose fault it was, you have the video proof. Thirdly if the insurance writes the car off, buy it back from them, you will be quids in and you can document that new journey. Exciting times.
Thanks!🙏
Just shows how stable and strong these cars are. Glad you are physically ok. Time will heal your mental trauma. Find a good classic body shop who knows these cars. Don’t settle for any insurance selected body shop. I know from experience… all the best with it Jay!
Thanks!🙏
So sorry to see this video. I met you and your son a few weeks ago in Weston when you pulled up next to me in my 996 Turbo. I love the color and it would be a shame to scrap a solid car. I think the other guy’s insurance should cover most of the repair, as you have video documentation of his turning into the side of your car. North State Custom in Bedford hills is a reputable (and expensive) shop. You could also ask Speed Sport Tuning in Danbury (porsche specialists) who they recommend. Good luck.
Hi David! Thanks a lot!
I own both...and a 991.2 Turbo S and Cayenne I think I love them both but if I had to pick one it would be the 2003. 996.2.
EXACTLY 😂❤️🙏
EXACTLY. 😁❤️🙏
Sorry that happened. My stomach turned when I saw the video and the results. As many have said, good that you had the dash cam. Get several body shop recommendations, use the best one and repair it! If they total, buy it back at a reduced price to repair or have as a parts donor for your next one if fixing it proves too challenging. Good luck!
Thanks!🙏
Jay chin up!!! Everything will turn out okay!!
Thanks!🙏
Contact Ensign Autobody in Albany NY. The owner, Bob, is expert at working on behalf of owners to get cars repaired and their value maintained.
Don’t let them total it. Take a reduced settlement and keep your car. I did that with my Motorcoach, fixed it and still have it. You have too much sweat equity in your 928. I had two 928s years ago and loved them. Porsche ran a TV ad back then which said, Porsche 928, Germany’s answer to intra city air travel. Pretty clever.
Thanks!🙏
It's the other person's fault, so his insurance will be paying for the damage. If they try to write it off as totaled, insist you want it repaired and put as it was. For me, I don't care what the market value of my cars are it's the sentimental value that's important. I keep repairing them as I go along as long as parts are available.
Yup! Thanks!🙏
...stuff happens, that's life. Just get her fixed and roll on.
Yeah. Quite right.
Hurts to see this hope she will be back on the road
Stay tuned! I’m fighting!
@@JAYREAD I have a 94 E500 I can’t imagine if this happened luckily u have dash cam to justify u driving along and got bumped in . The 928 is a classic to us and the car is special but for others just a car I hope good result will turn out for u 🙏🫡
It’s just an illusion….
…in all this confusion.
You have to really watch yourself around those small S.U.V’s mainly clowns drive them and old people that are not aware of their surroundings. When I go out in my Porsche or Ferrari especially I am super careful of other drivers I am super alert and keep away from other cars. They were not that nice they tried to blame you for the accident they obviously caused…. Thank god you had the camera running. To prove it was not at all your fault. I’ll stay away from those inside lanes in round about as Americans really don’t know how to use roundabouts as well as the rest of the world. 🌎
Sorry to see this Jay. Glad you're ok physically! Perhaps it's time for your dream Gemballa 928!
Hahaha! Maybe! Cheers Julian.
Sorry about what happened. I'm sure if you search hard enough you'll find someone that will repair that for you other than a shop. Shop rates are outrageous these days and I've resorted to working on my own Porsche. Keep the faith and don't sell it!!
Thank you! 🙏
So sorry to see this Jay. Glad I got to meet you at Amelia Island this year and see your car. It’s beautiful and definitely worth saving. Best of luck with the process and I plan on seeing you in Amelia next year! THINK POSITIVE. 😀
Thanks chap! Hope to see you again in sunny Florida! And with the 928!
sory to hear man.. check out my 1987 928s4 w 59k miles mint. i am selling it . check it out. it was on Porsche 928 S4 : Tim's Enthusiast Garage Episode 16.
Hey thanks! Not quite ready to give up on my one yet! A plan seems to be developing with the aid of my friends!
@@JAYREAD no worries mate. good luck w it all. They are amazing cars.
That’s so disappointing! I’m sorry that this happened! I really hope it’s fixable. You can always total it out and maybe buy it back, then fix? Sometimes that works out, financially. No sense in giving up on it, too quickly!
Quite right, Bobby! I’m fighting for it!
I think you need to find a really gifted “panel beater” if such a genius still exists. It’ll probably be an old fella who still has a set of tools from the fifties and sixties. I’ve seen some truly gifted people over the years. Concerning the accident, as a Brit living in Canada, I’ve adopted the position that, as a guest I don’t make a fuss but, the roundabout is a bit of a novelty in North America. I remember as a kid when they were replacing crossroads and traffics lights in the UK, there was quite a public information campaign explaining how they should be used. Not sure if that happened here.
I’m going out there and saying that it did not happen! Haha!
I feel your pain, Jay. Through a work event in 1990 (unrelated to cars) I had the great pleasure of test driving a 928 (I think it was an “S” too), a 944 Turbo and two 911s during one morning. This was on mountain roads in Austria too. It was the first time I had driven any Porsche. We were encouraged to drive them spiritedly. We had to take the cars out with two of us and I’ll never forget the bemused expression on the face of my driving mate after taking out the 928 and he asked me after that enthusiastic session, “what kind of car do you drive at home”? And my response was, “I don’t own a car at the moment”. 11 years later I got my own 911 (996 C2) and I still have it. I sincerely hope there’s an imminent repair solution for you.
Lovely story! Thank you!🙏
Hooray jay’s back! Sorry, max bummer bro
Hey thanks! Wish I was back with a better story! Stay tuned though!
